It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Richard was born in Drummond, New Brunswick. Moving away from home at the age of 14, and going to work in Toronto, Ontario. Later moving to London, Ontario, where he met and married his wife Lillojean (Jean).
Richard got his crane license in 1974 and he enjoyed operating, as he said every lift was a challenge. He also enjoyed a game of cribbage, euchre and watching the Edmonton hockey games and spending time with his grandchildren. In 1978, Richard, his wife, and two daughters moved to Alberta.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Jean, of 56 years, daughters: Brenda (Bruce) Scott, Sheri (Blaine) Knutson; by dearly loved grandchildren: Cade (Rochelle), Cole (Jenna), Rylee (Eric), Spencer (Ashlee), Lowell (Lindsay), Bryce (Krisha), and Brooklynn (Levi); ten great grandchildren, all in Alberta; brothers: Steve (Carole) in Ontario, Gregg (Jenny) in New Brunswick, Stew in Alberta, Reid (Cathy) from Ontario; sisters: Carolyn (Burt) Scott of New Brunswick, and Charlotte (Wayne) of New Brunswick; sisters-in-law: Mary, Bev and Cindy plus numerous nieces and nephews
Richard is predeceased by parents, William (Bill) and Ethel; brothers: John and Fred.
The years have brought some changes, as years are bound to do, but one thing always stays the same, and that's all our love for you.
Our thanks to Dr. Niemand and all the doctors and nurses at the Red Deer Cancer Centre, for their care.
There will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
