Rika Kranenborg passed away with her children by her side July 2, 2018 at the Red Deer Hospice. Rika was born April 14, 1942 in Sliedrecht, Holland. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1951 and settled in Red Deer.
Rika met the love of her life Henry and they were married January 30, 1960. Rika had a passion for knitting and sewing. Many an outfit was created in her loving hands for her children and grandchildren. After many years of assisting Henry at Central Equipment Rentals, Rika became an avid volunteer in her community. Meals on wheels was a large part of her life volunteering for over 40 years.
Rika was the loving mother to Susan, Ryan & Carla, Rick & Darlene and John & Avery. Oma had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Rika was predeceased by her husband Henry, her parents Reyer & Anna, brothers Ron & Eric and son in law Maurice. A celebration of Rika's life will be on Monday July 9, 2018 at 1:00 pm at First Christian Reformed Church, 16 McVicar Street, Red Deer, AB.
