RITCHIE Mrs. Blanche Ritchie of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Blanche was born on December 30, 1915 at Eyebrow, Saskatchewan. She was raised in Nakomis, Saskatchewan with her five sisters and two brothers, until she entered into Registered Nursing Training with the Grey Nuns. Blanche practiced nursing throughout Sask- atchewan until she met and married Art. They were married in High River, Alberta on May 20, 1950. The couple settled in Red Deer, where they raised their two children. Blanche enjoyed gardening, knitting, cats and kids. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Royal Purple. Blanche will be very sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Blanche leaves to mourn her loss, her son, Jack Ritchie and his wife, Darlene of Calgary, Alberta and her daughter, Marilyn Ritchie and her husband, Doug Heal of Van- couver, British Columbia and her two beloved grandchildren, Daniel and Carmen Ritchie. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Phyllis Kornder of Humboldt, Saskatchewan and Lenore Hickox of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Blanche was predeceased by her beloved husband, Art Ritchie, sisters, Monica Jorgenson, Lillian Townsend and Corinne Lettner, and two brothers, Ralph Lettner and Bill Lettner. Prayers will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 – 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Joseph Dephoff, S.A.C. celebrant. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Blanche’s honour may be made directly to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, 3942 – 50A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 6R2.
