Death cannot kill what never dies." - William Penn It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Estela Rivas on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Estela was born on May 15, 1934 in Chalatenango, El Salvador, where she resided until her immigration to Red Deer, Alberta in May of 1988. Estela lived a joyous and fulfilling life among those who loved and cared for her most. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Irma (Omar) Hernandez, Rafael (Mila) Menendez, Mario (Reyna) Menendez; as well as her five grandchildren, Irmita, Omarcito, Reynita, Marito, and Lupita. Estela will be missed terribly, however, our love for her will forever be immortal. We will forever continue to love her in death as we loved her in life. A funeral service for Estela Rivas will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer.
