October 7, 2008

BOECHLER Robert A. On October 3, 2008, we lost our brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend – Robert Boechler. He slipped away peacefully at City Hospital, Saskatoon, Sask. Most important to Robert was family and he will be deeply missed by his children: Kelvin (Diane) Boechler and Katie and Amy; Terri (Ken) Blue and Adam, Jillian, Josh and Tiana: Patti Boechler and Camryn and Jace; Dave (Laverne) Boechler and Pamela and Justin and will also be remembered by the mother of his children, Martha McAvoy. Robert was born January 26, 1930 to Gregory and Mathilda Boechler (Loehndorf) and grew up in Allan, Saskatchewan. His life was filled with the love of eight brothers and sisters: Lil (Bob) Murdoch, Rita (deceased) (Arnold) Selzler, Ron Boechler (deceased), Erv (deceased) (Eleanor) Boechler, Arlene (Harry) Fleury, Ben Boechler, Jack (Norma) Boechler, Donna Grenier (Howard Harding) and many nieces and nephews. Robert will also be remembered fondly by his stepdaughters, Andrea Bowling and Nicole Baumann, stepgrandchildren and many long-time friends. Robert's working career spanned 62 years and included ranch hand, lineman, buyer at Federated Co-op, realtor, horse breeder and land developer. He lived his life in Saskatoon SK, Red Deer, Rimbey, and Blackfalds, AB. He shared with his family and friends his love of nature and wildlife, horses, photography, fishing, hunting and challenging himself to design new things. His greatest gifts to all were his generosity, his willingness to share his knowledge and his compassion for people less fortunate than himself. The family would like to perpetuate his compassion by helping fulfill one of his long-time dreams, to build a well in Africa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's name to World Vision Canada - Share a Well In Memorium (Toll free: 1-866-595-5550; or Mail: 1 World Drive, Mississauga, Ontario L5T 2Y4; through the Website www.worldvision.ca).
