March 12, 1931 - December 28, 2018
Robert J Rose of Calgary passed away peacefully at 1:01 AM this 28th day of December 2018, at the age of 87, after a short battle with cancer.

In his own words, "People will say I died of cancer, but actually it was old age, cancer was just the mechanism." Bob was most known for his 60+ year career in Wildlife Photography and the legacy he leaves world wide in published photographs. In addition to magazine articles, and pictures made into jigsaw puzzles and playing cards in Austria, he also had pictures displayed in the New York State Museum, the Audubon society and many other publications who used his photographs to accompany articles. As a hunter, Bob had the distinction of having been issued License number 1, the very first license for a non-resident hunter in the Northwest Territories in 1965. In his career as an investment broker, he served as Chairman of the Canadian Investment Dealers Association, as a Governor of the Alberta Stock Exchange, among others.

Bob is survived by his son, Keith (Sue) Rose; his daughter, Lyla Rose; his grandchildren, Jordan Rose and Auriel Rose; his brother, Norman (Veva) Rose; along with a huge number of family members and friends.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Ella Mathilda Rose (nee Morck) on August 25, 2016; by his parents, Alfred and Matilda Rose (nee Schneider); and his brother, Jim Rose.

Bob lived a full life, filled with travel and adventure with the love of his life Ella. They are back together now, with God, and off on their next adventure together. Bob will be missed by all those who had the good fortune to know him.

A memorial service will be held for Bob at a future date, Bob's wisdom again, "Have it when the weather is better, the people who care will be there, whenever it happens." Please contact Keith or Lyla for updates on the memorial service.
