KELLY, Robert Kelly Jan. 29, 1911 - May 30, 2006 It is with deep sadness that the families of Robert (Bert) Kelly announce his peaceful passing at the great age of 95 years. Born in Northern Ireland, the family moved to Larkhall, Scotland in 1918. Following the death of his father in 1926, his Mother and her 8 children immigrated to Canada in 1929. They farmed in the Wainwright area. Bert met Jane Casper and married in 1934. They farmed until 1941. Moving to Princton and Vancouver B.C. where Bert became a moulder at Relance Foundry. Bert's love was farming they returned to the Bentley area in 1945 purchasing a farm. He retired in 1975 moving to Winfield. In 1980 they moved to Winfield, B.C. In 1984 as a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, Bert took Jane back to his birth place, Ireland and Scotland. In 1992 they lived in Vernon moving to Coldstream Meadows in 2002, outside of Vernon. Failing health hospitalized him in January 2006, when he moved into Heritage Square until his passing. Bert loved music, he played trombone with the Bentley Band for a short time. The Kelly family would entertain at many functions, especially his wife and son Hugh, who still is entertaining. Bert is survived by his loving wife of 71Zx years of marriage. 5 children Hugh (Fran) Kelly of Lacombe, Carol (Bill) Janssen Red Deer, Florence (George) Raabis Valmont, B.C. Joanne (Norm) Long, Oyama, B.C., Ken (Lisa) Kelly Prince George B.C. 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-laws, 2 brother-in-law, numerous nieces & nephews, other extended family & dear friends. Predeceased by one daughter-in-law Elaine (Grover) Kelly and his siblings. A celebration of Bert's life will be held July 30, 2006 from 1-5 p.m. at Royal Canadian Legion Vernon, B.C.
