The Family of Robert Lee Emerson with sadness and regret, announce his passing August 8, 2018, at the Red Deer General Hospital after his courageous battle with health issues.

Lee is survived by two daughters, Kelly and Cherrill Emerson, Brother Rick and Lynn Hewson, Edmonton, Sister Barb and Darcy Teichroeb, Red Deer, Nieces and Nephews, many friends--Special among them, Alice Emerson, Rocky Mountain House and Jim Zakowsky, Calgary.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents Marj and Merv Hewson, and father Robert Clark Emerson who was killed in action in North Aftrica during WWII. Lee was born on January 5, 1942 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, moving to Red Deer in 1954. Lee joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1959 and served a 5-year enlistment on Destroyers, Submarines, and the Aircraft Carrier HMCS Bonaventure. He participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, and the Peace-Keeping operation in Cyprus in 1964, along with a number of Naval Operations of the North Atlantic Squadron.

Lee's business career included stints as a Lifeguard, Bartender, truck driver and Automotive Body shop owner. After moving to Vancouver, he spent a number of years in the Equipment Leasing Business and later as Founder of General Leasing Corporation.

He was the Developer and Founder of both CARFINCO, Inc. and RIFCO National Auto Finance, and it was his greatest pleasure and satisfaction as he watched both Companies continued growth and success.
