Robert MURPHY

September 25, 2008

MURPHY Robert George (Bob) Feb. 11, 1944 - Sept. 20, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob on September 20, 2008 at the age of 64 years, with his family by his side. Throughout his life Bob lived in the Rocky Mountain House area, Grande Prairie area and finally Red Deer, where he has made many lasting impressions and friends. Bob and Adela started a life together in 1975, with Brent, Quentin, Craig and Tanya. Although he was gruff on the outside, he had a big heart and could be a real softie. He enjoyed the outdoors and horseback riding, taking two trips to the mountains on horseback with friends. Bob will be remembered by many nieces and nephews for playing the part of Santa at Christmas. He enjoyed traveling with Adela, meeting new people and having a drink with friends. Bob also enjoyed his time with Cailin and Aiden, joking with Jennifer or just sitting in the healing chair with his Gracie. He worked many years in sales, most recently at Southside RV Centre, where they will miss sharing stories with Bob. He will be lovingly missed by his wife Adela, his daughter Tanya, his sons Brent, Quentin wife Shannon and Craig, grandchildren Cailin and Aiden, his mother Nellie and brothers Dwayne, Darcy and Terry, as well as his doggie Gracie and numerous family and friends. Bob was predeceased by his father Robert and brother Barry. A memorial gathering for Bob will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 35 (2810 Bremner Ave, Red Deer) on Thursday, September 25th at 1pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society.
