We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Uncle & Brother, Robert Ralph Young on July 22, 2020 at the age of 60 years.
Rob grew up in Red Deer, AB and attended Lindsay Thurber High School. He was a good student, despite skipping a class or two.
He spent most of his career as a salesman for a variety of companies, a profession that suited his magnetic personality, ability to connect with people, and genuinely caring demeanor. There was never a dull moment in his presence with his great sense of humor, a mix of joy & mischief.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many hiking trips with friends & family, camping & fishing. He was an accomplished pool player in both league play & tournaments (Doc) and enjoyed a good round of golf.
Rob spent some time living & working in Ontario, but his love for Alberta brought him home in 2016.
Rob is survived by his children, Jim Young (Victoria), Heather Young, & Taylor Mann-Young. Siblings Annabel Basnett (Don), Brenda Koch-Bakke, & Lyslie Koch (Leanne). His grandchildren, Portia, Vanor, Jasper & Riker. Many nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his mother, Bernice Vig and brother Markus Koch.
Rob was immeasurably loved from the moment he was born and beyond his passing.
His life will be beautifully remembered on Friday, Sept. 4th at 2 pm at the Grace Lutheran Church near Bentley. The family invites you to join in his celebration.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rob's name can be made to the Mustard Seed in Calgary.
