RUSSELL

Robert Roy

May 25, 1974 - Sept. 17, 2014

Robert passed away suddenly and peacefully at the young age of 40 years. He was born in Red Deer, AB on May 25, 1974. He attended school in Penhold and Red Deer and furthered his education with his love of music at the Red Deer College music program. He was a member of many bands including Moonshine Bandits, 89, and Sam Drucker's General Store to name a few. He was also very proud to have had the opportunity to manage the "Clayton Bellamy Band". He made many lasting and close personal relationships throughout his musical career. Although Robert was passionate about his music, his greatest love was his sons Grayson and Gibson. He furthered his working career in the trades of welding and pipe fitting. These trades often took him away from home, which although he enjoyed his accomplishments in his careers, he was always eager to return home to his boys. Rob is survived by his parents, Ron and Helen Russell; sons, Grayson and Gibson, their mother Kandy and son Griffin; brothers, Tony (Cathy) and Ryan (Tara); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be dearly missed by Carey and her family. Rob was very proud of this relationship, which brought him so much joy. Robert is predeceased by his grandparents, Roy Russell, Gwen Russell, Rose Friesen and Armand DesRochers. Rob's generous spirit, large loving heart and sharp sense of humor endeared him to many. The beautiful memory of Robert will live on in our hearts. A memorial celebration of Roberts's life is planned for Saturday, September the 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Theatre Room of the Springbrook Multiplex in Springbrook Alberta which is located on highway 2A between Red Deer and Penhold. The memorial service will be followed by an afternoon luncheon, with a musical celebration afterward in which we encourage participation from Robert's fellow musical artists in attendance, as a fond loving memory of Robert's love of music. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Rob will be accepted into a trust for his sons. Alberta Treasury Branches across the province are prepared to receive donations to the Grayson and Gibson Russell Trust Fund. Condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting
