Rodney CONWAY

CONWAY Rodney Larry Conway Was born on March 19, 1973 at Dryden, Ontario to Larry and Colleen Conway. Rodney died tragically on September 7, 2009 near Stettler, Alberta. Rodney was always his own person. He was everyone's friend and willing to help whether it was fixing something or just drinking their beer and having a good laugh! Rodney attended schools in Dryden, Ontario and Deloraine, Manitoba, although it was always a struggle to get him there; therefore Rodney decided to enter the work world because in Grade 11 he had 442 missed classes. In 1994 he came to Alberta and lived around Stettler the majority of the last 15 years and working in the oilfield. He is survived by his parents, Larry and Colleen Conway of Rimbey, Alberta; his brother, Greg (Brenda) and Brenda's boys, Cody and Dustin of Rimbey and his sister, Carla of Red Deer, Alberta. Rodney was predeceased by his sister, Lesley in 1972. Rodney was also predeceased by his grandparents. Funeral services were held at the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home and Crematorium on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Myles Conway officiating. Doug McKay played for the congregational hymns. Special music of Rod's was played. Eulogy was given by Donnie, Dale and David Ventnor and family memories were given by Greg Conway and Carla Conway. Memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation in Rod's name. Family and friends gathered for a time of fellowship and a light luncheon prepared by the Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies.
