RODWAY, Mr. Thomas William "Tom" Rodway, beloved husband of Mrs. Hulda Rodway (nee Wadson), passed away after a lengthy illness at the Alberta Hospital, Ponoka, Alberta on Monday, May 29, 2006 at the age of 89 years. Tom was born on December 14, 1916 at Endiang, Alberta and spent all his school years in Halkirk, Alberta. He was an avid sports fan and played hockey with the Red Deer Rustlers in their early, early days until a mishap made him just a spectator. Tom and Hulda were extensive world travelers when health permitted. Tom loved poetry and said to Hulda many times: If I should go before you dear I'll walk slowly down the Path of death, well worn and wide know you'd like to overtake me And seek the journey's ending by my side. I'll be so forlorn not to see you Down some shiny highway from where I came I'll walk slowly dear and Often look behind me And pause to hear if someone Calls my name. Author Unknown Tom is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Hulda, his daughter, Brenda (Shaun) Pierce, his son, Kevin Rodway (Dianne), his four grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Kimberley and Nathaniel, and a brother, Fred Rodway of Calgary.
