It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great -grandfather Roland "Joe" Butler on June 14, 2018.
He was born in 1925 in Verdun, Quebec. Joe was a proud Veteran of WW II, he served in the Netherlands for most of his tour of duty. He was dedicated to his role as Service Officer for Veterans affairs until the age of 88. He derived satisfaction that he could support his comrades.
Joe enjoyed curling, playing crib, and spending time with family and friends at "The Land"!! He is survived by his children: Johanne (Wade) Meston, Mike (Leah) Butler and Katherine Mabb-Butler. Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Carmen in 2008 and beloved son Robert Butler in 2017.
Memorial Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation. A Family Graveside service will be held Saturday June 23rd, 2018 at Alto-Reste Cemetery at 1:30p.m. Please join the family at 2:30p.m. at "The Hide Out, Eats and Beats" for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
