Ronald Wardner passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born August 5, 1951 in Redvers, Saskatchewan to George and Joyce Wardner. Growing up, he lived in many rural communities throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. Ron met the love of his life, Joan, while working at Associated Engineering in Edmonton. They married in 1980 and moved to Red Deer in 1982 where they raised their family. At this time, Ron began his career of 33 years with the City of Red Deer. In 2010, Ron received the Bob Stollings Award, honouring his outstanding performance in alignment with the City's cornerstone values - respect, integrity, service and excellence. He took the utmost pride in his position as a Superintendent with the City and had the highest regard for the people he worked with.
Ron was a devoted and caring father to his 5 daughters, Amanda, Angela(Joe), Tina, Amy(Brad), and Lyndsy(Donavan), an incredible grandfather to his 10 grandchildren, and a loving older brother to his sister, Launa(Don).
Ron's calm, knowledgeable and reassuring presence will be greatly missed.
As per Ron's request there will be no funeral at this time. A celebration of his life will be planned for the summer of 2023.
