Rose PRUTTON

October 6, 2006

PRUTTON Rose Daisy Prutton of Olds, Alberta (formally of Innisfail) passed away peacefully at the Olds Hospital on October 2, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Rose was born at Sunnybrook Farm, AB and spent her early years in Edson where she shared the family homestead with several siblings. Striking out on her own at an early age she held a score of interesting jobs, from line cook to logjammer, waitress to coal miner and various more, but her favorite position in life was that of Mother to the many children her two marriages produced and grandmother to those that followed. After many years in Innisfail - she will be remembered there as the 'Bottle Lady' - she took time to travel about Western Canada with her companion of many years, Fred Brooks, until they finally settled in Torrington. Illness slowed her down as she moved into her late seventies and she was forced to 'retire', eventually moving into the Olds Long Term Care where she passed peacefully, her family's love embracing her as she slept. We shall miss her dearly. She is survived by life companion Fred Brooks of Torrington, AB, sons Pat Kachor, his wife Valerie and their family of Prince Albert, Sask., Don Prutton, Kim Murphy and their family of Sylvan Lake, AB, Robin and Tim Prutton and their families of La Ronge, Sask.; daughters Sue Prutton and her family of Calgary, AB, and Leta Dickhaut, her husband Cam and their family of Penhold, AB as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also left to mourn are countless people from a lifetime of friendships made. Rose is predeceased by all her siblings, husbands Sam Kachor and George Prutton as well as young sons Michael Patrick Kachor and David Allen Prutton. As per her lifelong wishes, Rose will be interred with her baby son David in Daysland. Those wishing to pay there respects may do so Friday, October 6, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. at Metcalf Funeral Chapel, Innisfail, Alberta.
