REID, Rose Marie January 16, 1994 - June 9, 2004 Neil Robert, much-loved son of Shelley Reid and Lloyd Carter, passed away June 9, 2004, as the result of a tragic accident at home May 5, 2004. Neil is survived by his mother and stepfather, Shelley Reid and Robin Ohman; his father, Lloyd Carter; his brothers, Blake Reid, Jesse and Jordon Ohman; and his sisters, Bria, Paige and Ashley Ohman and Melissa Brophy. Neil loved his grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends very much. Neil was a happy cheerful boy. He was a natural athlete and participated in many activities but excelled at gymnastics, soccer and swimming. His enthusiasm and sense of humor made him a popular and successful student at Rimbey Elementary School. Neil's passion was bugs and he treasured his pet tarantula Rosey. Neil was determined to become an entomologist and travel the world studying insects. Quick to smile, ready to laugh, generous and kind, he shared his life and his loves with all fortunate enough to know this special child. A private family mass was held Wednesday June 16, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Deer. Neil's friends and classmates will dedicate a field in his memory 1:30 P.M. Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Rimbey Lion's Soccer Park. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Rimbey Hospital Fund or S.T.A.R.S.
