HAZELTON

Dr. Rosemary Carveth Hall

Aug.13th,1937-Aug.10th, 2014

Rosemary died of ovarian cancer at the Sunnybrook palliative care unit where she had been living since late March. She remained beautiful, elegant and enigmatic to the end. She gave up life reluctantly and during the four years of her illness continued to enjoy the visual and performing arts, movies, books, music and yoga. She had the assistance of her carefully chosen and devoted advocates, friend, Dr. Thérèse Zarb, and niece, Gillian Lawrence. Rosemary was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Calgary and Red Deer and was educated at the University of Alberta, the University of Toronto, and Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts where she was awarded a Doctorate in child psychotherapy in 1994. She had a long career as a social worker and a psychotherapist in pursuit of mental wellness for everyone. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Patrick Lawrence of Red Deer, Alberta and by her three nieces, Gillian Lawrence (Keith McCandlish) of Calgary, Jennifer Lawrence (Michael Shannon d. 2013) of Hong Kong and Pamela Lawrence (Daniel Agapi) of Calgary. There will be no formal service. Donations may be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada, 145 Front Street East, Suite 205, Toronto, Ontario, M5A 1E3 or directly online at:
