CREAMER

Roy Francis

Dec. 15, 1959 - Feb. 7, 2012

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roy Francis Creamer announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the age of 52. Left to forever cherish Roy's memory is his wife, Toni; his son, Liam; step-son, Dallas Varey, all of Kelowna; step-daughter, Jody (Brent) Gyori of Red Deer, AB, and his mom and step-father, Mary and Aron Wiebe of Campbell River, BC. Roy will also be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Alexandra Dyrland, Amanda, Maliyah and Justin Gyori of Red Deer, AB.; by his sisters, Carol-Ann (Bill) Dalzell of Nanaimo, BC, Jeanne (Bob) Perkins of Campbell River and Laurie Clark of Campbell River, BC,; also by many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins as well as their families. Mourning his loss will also be many close friends and business associates. Roy was predeceased by his father, Don Creamer. Roy was born and raised in Sayward, B.C. on Vancouver Island where he learned his love of the outdoors including fishing, snowmobiling and riding motorcycles. Roy started working at the age of 10, and by 13 he would take a 2 month early leave from school to go commercial fishing which became his legacy of hard work that he would do to perfection. He finished Grade 12 at CARIHI at the age of 15 then went logging, salmon fishing and prawn fishing. At age 19, he left Vancouver Island to begin his adult life in Red Deer, Alberta, which was the start of a 33 year career in the oil industry. Throughout this time, he started at the bottom and ended up at top by running his own Consulting Company. His work took him to many places in Canada as well as Cuba and Guatemala. Roy's gentle smile, his unique sense of humour, and need to help others touched so many. His overwhelming love and pride he felt for his family, especially his son Liam, was known to all who knew him. A page in our book of memories is gently turned today. A funeral service for Roy will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer, Alberta. A public viewing will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.Interment will take place at a later date in Sayward, BC, where Roy can be with his Dad.
