Roy Ivan

Roy Calvert passed away peacefully December 30th, 2011 at the age of 84 in Innisfail, Alberta. He was born in Innisfail in 1927, the 7th child of John and Myrtle Calvert. He grew up in the Calder district east of Innisfail. In 1949 he married Eileen, his wife of nearly 63 years. Roy spent many years farming, followed by a second, successful career in the building and construction industry. In his later years Roy was active golfing, curling and walking his little dog Chloe. Roy is survived by his wife Eileen of Innisfail, son David and daughter in law Denise of Calgary, daughter Melodie of Los Angeles and grandsons Ben, Michael and Thomas all of Calgary. Roy is also survived by his brother Cliff and his sister Mary. He was predeceased by his son Barry and siblings Violet, Marion, George, Alex and Johnny. A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday January 4, 2011 at 1:00 pm at St Mark's Anglican Church in Innisfail. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
