RUSHINSKY 1919 - 2009 Mr. Anthony "Tony" Rushinsky of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Center on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Tony was born September 23, 1919 at Minton, Saskatchewan. He proudly served in the Canadian Army in WWII with the 12th Field Artillery Regiment (5th Division) from 1942 to 1946. Tony had seen active service in and received service medals and Thank You medals from three battles, Ortona, Italy, Mt. Cassino, Italy and Nynegan, Holland. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Muriel; three grandsons Shane, Shadra and Gabe; and three great grandsons Zackary, Shayden and Shalon. Also left to cherish Tonys memory is one brother Frank of Red Deer and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by one (and only) daughter; five brothers and four sisters. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48 A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Alto Reste Cemetery.
