After a brave three year battle with liver disease, Russ passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the University of Alberta Hospital on March 1, 2012. Always giving of his time to any friend in need, Russ was kind, gentle and had a generous heart. Russ will be missed by the heartbroken love of his life, Margy; his two sons Matthew and Alexander; and his devoted miniature schnauzer, Shiner. Predeceased by his mother, Ileene and his two sisters Crystal and Nancy, Russ will be missed by his father Edgar; his brother Chet; and many nieces, nephews, friends and coworkers. Russ will also be sadly missed by his wife's Sullivan family. Our family would like to express their gratitude to our friends and the medical staff at both the Red Deer and University of Alberta Hospitals for their care and support. A celebration of Russ's Life will be held on Friday March 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Eventide Funeral Chapel 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer. (403-347-2222).
