RUSSELL KEITH

July 6, 2006

KEITH WAYNE RUSSELL Nov. 10, 1942 - June 30, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Wayne Russell after a year long battle with cancer, a battle he fought with courage and dignity. Keith was born in Medicine Hat, but moved with his parents shortly thereafter to a farm in the Gaetz area, west of Red Deer. In 1967 he was married to Connie (nee Erickson) and they took up residence in Carstairs, Alberta. Keith obtained his welder first class certificate in 1975 and it was the oil patch that took him to Drumheller in 1980. But he found his true calling in building the steel structure for the skeletal mounts that appear in the Royal Tyrrell Museum. He continued this career as part owner of Prehistoric Animal Structures for 13 years. Keith is survived by his wife and best friend, Connie; his sons Mitch and wife Dawn, Danny and wife Cheri; his daughter JoAnne and husband Greg Stone; his sister Fay and husband Ed Stenvig; and his mother Beatrice Russell; as well as many in laws and nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He will also be lovingly remembered by his 9 grand- children: Alex, Matthew, Larissa, Bradley, Travis, Mitchell, Samantha, Meaghan and his "special" grandson Chandler, whom he had affectionately nicknamed "Chug". Funeral services will take place at the Drumheller Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, July 6 at 2:30 p.m. with reception to follow at the East Coulee Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chandler's school, to be put towards a piece of equipment in his educational program. The address is: Broxton Park School, 505 Mcleod Ave., Spruce Grove, AB, T7X 2Y5. Personal Alternative Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
