RUTTAN It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Terrence Wayne Ruttan at the Red Deer Hospice on May 6, 2006 after a courageous battle with Cancer; at the young age of 55 years. Terry is survived by his loving wife Helen, and two sons Ryan (Holley) and Riley (Laurel) of Red Deer. He was predeceased by his father Charlie in 1991, mother Christine in 2003, Sister-in-law Ellen in 2003 and mother-in-law Annie Hollman in 2003. Terry is also survived by two brothers, Reg of Rocky Mountain House and Rod (June) of Fort Saskatchewan; and two sisters Charlotte (Jim) Price and Beverly (Bernard) Kula both of Sherwood Park. He is also survived by his father-in-law Pete Hollman; four brother-in-laws George (Shirley) Gaetz of Red Deer, Jim (Sharon) Hollman of Penhold, Ken (Sharon) Hollman of Red Deer and Bill (Vi) Moore of Red Deer; as well as many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great nieces and a host of many great friends. At a young age Terry entered the oil business and was one of the first employees of Nowsco Well Services Red Deer, spending two years in Lowestoft, England working with Coiled Tubing Units offshore. Returning home he had other business adventures and for the last 18 years worked in Calgary with Nortruck Manufacturing - a company he owned and loved. Terry had very strong work ethics and was well respected. In October 2005, Terry sold his business due to his failing health. Terry will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, wit and a great sense of humor. Terry had a supportive, loving family and many fun hours were spent fishing, boating, traveling and being together as a family. One of Terry's favorite sayings was "It's no fun being old if you haven’t enjoyed being young". Funeral Services for Terry Ruttan will be at the Innisfail United Church, 4720-48 Ave. Innisfail on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 2:00 pm. with Reverend Margaret Lange officiating.
