SALOMONS It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend Marilyn Joy Salomons (nee Stephenson) of Rimbey, Alberta in the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Thursday August 17, 2006 at the age of 61 years. Marilyn was born on December 25, 1944 in Bentley and baptized and confirmed at the Grace Lutheran Church. She took her schooling in Bentley and then completed her hairdressing course in Calgary. Upon completion, she returned to her home town of Bentley where she worked as a hairdresser. She met and married her husband John and started raising a family. Marilyn and John then moved to Rimbey where Marilyn continued hairdressing. Eventually Marilyn owned and operated her own hair salon in Rimbey for many years. Upon retirement, Marilyn started a greenhouse profession which she truly loved. It was through these two careers that Marilyn met and cherished many friends. Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Predeceased by her son Blaine, granddaughter; Rashel, her father Robert and her infant twin brother Marvin, Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her husband John of forty three years, daughter Ronda (George) Anderson and family, son Kirt Salomons and family, mother; Ethel Stephenson, two brothers, two sisters, brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and numerous friends. A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Monday August 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Rimbey Recreation Centre with Reverend David Holmes officiating. Cremation. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, 10240 Kingsway Avenue Edmonton, Alberta T5H 3V9 or to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre PO Box 440 Rimbey, Alberta, T0C 2J0 for the construction of a future garden area at the new hospital.
