JARVIN, Sheila Sheila Jarvin of Sylvan Lake passed away quietly November 19, 2004 at the age of 87 years. Sheila is survived by three sons: Richard (Janis) of Victoria, Hugh (Valerie) of Kelowna, Doug (Michelle) of Edmonton, grandchildren: Michael, Stephanie, Paul, Melissa, Tristin, and Alexander. She is also survived by one sister Marion Bjorkeland of Red Deer, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Sheila served as a schoolteacher spanning four decades in the rural schools of Red Deer County and more permanently in Sylvan Lake until her retirement in 1980. She was active in the community with her Church, the Legion and the Historical Society where she served as editor and secretary for the first book Reflections of Sylvan Lake. Sheila enjoyed playing cards, watching curling, and playing horseshoes. She was an avid member of the Red Deer Horseshoes Club for many years with several successful events, including gold and silver medals at the Alberta Senior Games. A Service of Remembrance will be held from the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5020 48 Street, Sylvan Lake on Friday, November 26, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. Inurnment will follow in the Sylvan Lake Cemetery. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House. As expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton or the Memorial Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Sylvan Lake.
