Sheila Jean Davison of Sylvan Lake passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, with family by her side, on December 30 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sheila is survived by her husband of fifteen years Rick Davison, son Patrick (Brigitte) Boomer, step-children Shaune (Tammy, Richelle, Michael) Davison and Yolanda (Doug, Tia, Lucas) Paris, father George Acheson, brothers Colin (Burdine, Erin, Rob) Acheson, and Curtis (Odette, Sylvie, Nicole, Marc) Acheson, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Sheila was predeceased by husband Charles Boomer, mother Jean Acheson, brother Jimmy Acheson, mother-in-law Madge Davison, and sister-in-law Roxanne Acheson. Sheila was born and raised in Sedgewick, Alberta before moving with the family to Lacombe. Following her marriage to Charles in 1965, Sheila and family moved to Sylvan Lake in 1971 where she quickly became an active member of the community. She enjoyed working for many years at the Sylvan Lake Post Office, her favorite commitment was to her many friends in the I.O.D.E. After the passing of Charles in 1990, Sheila married Rick in 1995, moving to Kuusamo area and starting Sylvan Flower Farm, following their passion and gift for gardening. Sheila's green thumb was evident when you drove into their beautiful yard. Sheila will be fondly remembered by her family and many long time friends around Sylvan Lake, along with many new friends in Gold Canyon, Arizona. At Sheila's request, a memorial celebration will be held at a later date, when the temperature is warmer, the days are longer, and the flowers are in bloom. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Unit 32 and Sylvan Lake Medical Clinic for their loving care and compassion.
