Shirley BUSBY

November 10, 2008

BUSBY Shirley Busby (Travis) of Red Deer passed away on Nov 6th, 2008 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital as a result of a very sudden illness. Shirley is lovingly remembered by all who knew her, but most deeply by her husband Roy, children, Lesley, Paul, Susan and Frances. She will be greatly missed by her brothers, Bill and Wally, her sister, Elizabeth, four grand- children, and one great grand-daughter. Shirley was born in Halifax where she met and married the love of her life, Roy, in 1957. For the first 30 years of their 52 year marriage, Shirley and Roy, moved around the country with the Canadian Navy. Upon retirement in 1991 they moved to Red Deer where Shirley became a very active member of the Central Alberta Quilters Guild. Shirley has spent the last 25 years quilting with love. She has generously donated her time and efforts to charitable quilting events, and has provided every one in her extended family with a lovingly crafted keepsake quilt. Her quiet generosity is a legacy she leaves behind with all who knew her. Shirley was a woman of great inner strength, and a celebration of her life will take place at the Red Deer Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12th, at 3:00 p.m. Condolences can be forwarded to the family by visiting www.reddeerfuneralhome.com
