GOERTZEN Shirley Joyce (Duckworth) Goertzen of Blackfalds, born February 12, 1936, passed away on July 12, 2006 at Red Deer suddenly of a heart attack. Shirley was a life long resident of Blackfalds and District. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, John; daughter Cindy (Paul) Corney and their children Jamea, Nathan and Graison of Montreal; son Blair (Lyn) Goertzen and their children Hayley, Emma, Sarah and Kate of Red Deer; daughter Denise (Grant) Nielsen and their children Steven, Ryan and Justina of Blackfalds; daughter Della (Kelly) Graham and their children Kane and Nicole of Red Deer. She will also be remembered by her brother Jim (Violet) Duckworth of Lacombe; and sisters-in-law Ruth Duckworth of Drayton Valley, Jesse Jantzen of Dryden, Ontario, Annette Towns of Brighton, Ontario, Susan Morden of Hartney, Manitoba, Helen Martens of Winkler, Manitoba, and numerous nieces and nephews, and her special friend and pet Spencer. Shirley was predeceased by her parents William and Doris Duckworth, and one brother Tom Duckworth. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe, Alberta. Interment to follow in the Blackfalds Cemetery.
