Shirley Isabelle Pollard (Kohtala) born on December 25, 1956. At the age of 63, passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2020 at 12:05 pm in the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Martha Pollard, Katie Pollard, Pauline (Victor) Crossman, and step-son JR (Kim) Pollard; her 5 grandchildren; Andrew, Elizabeth, Hope, Molly, and Collin; One great-grandson Elijah; as well as 5 other grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Lena (Dave), Paul 'Dicky', Robert 'Robby', David, and Kevin. Shirley is also survived by Warrick Pollard whom she was married to for 20 years. She will also be missed by many family and friends.
Shirley is pre-deceased by parents Verner and Helen Kohtala, bother Glen Kohtala, and step daughter Heather Pollard.
Shirly was born in Rocky Mountain House, AB. She lived outside of Rocky on a farm with her family. She loved to do farm work like chasing cows and gardening. She loved to bring her daughters out to the farm where they helped her with the garden and ate all the pea pods in the garden. Shirley also worked for Action Taxi in Rocky for many years.
A Memorial Service for Shirley will be held at a later date. If anyone wishes to pay their final respects to Shirley, a visitation will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home, 4804 48 street, Rocky Mountain House, AB on Thursday, April 23rd, 2020 at 1 pm. Please follow social distancing protocol, wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer upon entering and exiting the funeral home.
