On Aug 22, 2019, Sidney Townsend passed away after 98 years well lived. Sid is lovingly remembered by his sons Mike (Sharleen) and Terry (Susan), his grandchildren Dean (Kathy), Kelly (Youlanda), Angus, Penny, Kalie, his great-granddaughter Hannah, and his sisters Isobel (Bill) and Eleanor (Norm).
Sid was predeceased by his wife Iris, the love of his life, in 1999; two brothers and three sisters. This humorous and beloved family man will be missed by those who knew him.
Funeral service will be held at the Eventide Funeral Home, 4820-45 St, Red Deer, AB on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Red Deer or Onoway branches.
