SIMPSON 1915 - 2009 Mrs. Bertha (Bert) E. Simpson of Red Deer, Alberta passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the age of 93 years. Bert was born April 28, 1915 in Edmonton, Alberta. On July 24, 1937 she married T. Roy Simpson. She spent many years dancing in theatres and entertaining at many social events. She enjoyed teaching dancing to her many pupils. Moving to Red Deer in 1953 she became very active within the community with Kwaniannes. She loved bowling, plenty of Golf with her husband at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club, Cross Country Skiing, Square dancing, and Bridge was a passion. She spent many hours making crafts especially at Christmas, her home was a joy to see. Travelling was a great joy but after 24 cruises, bus and car trips, because of health problems she decided to slow down and enjoy her condo and quiet life. Bert leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Garry (Shirley) of Victoria, B.C., Glen (Jo-Anne) of Calgary, AB; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great great granddaughters. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and friends. Bert was predeceased by her loving husband Roy, of 39 years in 1976 as well as her mother and father; three sisters and three brothers.
