SKAGE, 1928 - 2006 Mr. John Alexander Skage, beloved husband of Mrs. Elsie Skage of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the age of 78 years. John was born on January 17, 1928 at Edmonton, Alberta. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, papa, brother, uncle and a trusted friend. He was a very caring man with a wonderful sense of humour, making everyone laugh with his big smiles and funny jokes. John touched many hearts and many lives through his love and kindness. He will be "deeply missed" but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of his family and many dear friends. John leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife of fifty-five years, Elsie of Red Deer, his son, John (Barb) Skage of Rocky Mountain House, his four daughters, Nadine (Bob) Pico and Audrey (Jim) Williams, all of Red Deer, Lois (Willie) Weich of Cochrane and Ruby Fairbrother (Bob Koehli) of Sylvan Lake. Also to mourn his loss are eleven grandchildren and their spouses and six great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Agnes Watson of Grande Prairie, Alberta, his brother, Ron (Elsie) Skage of Williams Lake, British Columbia, as well as numerous other family members and friends. John was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers. A Celebration of John's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
