STANGOWITZ March 21, 1939 - Nov. 3, 2008 It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of a sister, mother, grand-mother and great grand-mother, after a brief illness, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital with her sister Rayia at her bedside, when she slipped away from us in her sleep. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors in the emergency ward who were there to help her. Dora was born March 21, 1939 in Edmonton, Alberta to Albertine and Walter Bell. She was the second eldest child of nine children. Dora is survived by her loving family: her two daughters; Susan (Bev) Chipchase of Calgary and Sandra (Gary) Edge of Darwell, Alberta and her son, Steven (Lorraine) Stangowitz of New Sarepta, Alberta, five grandsons; Ryan, Christopher, Michael, Joshua and Tyler, and two great grandsons; Jasper and Aiden. She is also lovingly remembered by four sisters; Shirley Hallgren of Lacombe, Rayia McDonald of Lacombe, Annette (Glen) McDonald of Lacombe and Julie (Harry) Krause of New Norway, one sister-in-law, Jenny Bell of Lacombe, two brothers; Elvin Bell of Camrose and Art Bell of Edmonton, thirteen nephews, eleven nieces, sixteen great nephews and thirteen great nieces. She was predeceased by a niece, Bonnie Bell in 1981, a sister-in-law, Carol Bell in 1992, a brother-in-law, Vern Hallgren in 1994, also her parents; Mother on February 8, 1999 and Father on March 22, 2002, one sister, Evelyn on March 1, 2002, her eldest brother, Louie "Joe" on December 4, 2002, and her youngest son, Darcy on September 3, 2005. A Memorial Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 Street) on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Leanne V. Hall officiating. Lunch will follow in the reception area at the Red Deer Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Lacombe.
