Mr. Steven Anthony Slepicka of Red Deer, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the age of 37 years. Steve will be remembered as a very loving, caring and fun person. He was respectful of his family, friends, to those around him and would be there to help anyone who needed a hand, advice or a shoulder to lean on. Steve had worked mostly in the oil industry. In his spare time, Steve participated in many sports including hockey, baseball, floor hockey and most recently curling. He also loved to cook and had been involved in many chili cook offs. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his children Brandon, Maigan and Sophia; mother Anne Slepicka; brother Kelly (Connie) Slepicka; sister Mindy Sitko; brother-in-law Jason Sitko; nephews Jayden Sitko, Riley Sitko and Kayden Slepicka and grandmother Olga Slepicka. Also to cherish Steve's memory are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Steven was predeceased by his father Milton in September 2010, grandparents Steve and Frances Koltusky and Walter Slepicka. A Celebration of Steve's life will be held in the Chapel of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67 A Street, (Taylor Drive) Red Deer on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Steve's honor may be made directly to a trust fund for his children Brandon, Maigan and Sophia Slepicka that has been set up at the Servus Credit Union, Unit 4, 69 - Dunlop Street, Red Deer AB T4R 2H6.
