STROUD Mrs. Hope Irene Stroud passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on August 11, 2004 at the age of 83. She was born on October 17, 1920 in Coronation, Alberta, the eldest child of Elisha and Bertha Cogswell. Although much of her childhood was spent on the family farm west of Didsbury, she moved to High River as a teenager to work where she met and married Clarence Stroud on April 3, 1941. After the war, they resided in Didsbury and then moved to Red Deer where she lived until moving to the Sylvan Lake Seniors Lodge last year. Hope Stroud is survived by her four daughters, Caroll (Roy) Daly and their three daughters, Leanna, Shannon and Heather; Barbara (Richard Johnston) and their three children, Rhonda, Catherine (Dan) McCleary and Michael; Irene (Ches) Pye and their two children, Tammy and David (Suzanne) Pye and their children, Kathleen, Samantha and Luke; Verla (Ken) Carter and their three children, Roger, Sarah and Brian; and Hope's only son, Garry (Debbie) Stroud and their daughters, Arlene and Dominique. She is also survived by her brother, Garth (Dorothy) Cogswell and sister-in-law, Irene Epp as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 1989, her parents, and sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Bill Broadhurst. Funeral Services for the Late Mrs. Hope Stroud will be held from the First Church of the Nazarene, 2 McVicar Street, Red Deer, AB on Monday August 16, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dale Fallon officiating. Interment will follow in Alto Reste Memorial Gardens.
