STUBER It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Frances Susanne Stuber. She was taken home to be with her Lord & Savior in Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, June 20, 2009 with her loving daughter Colleen & granddaughter Aimee by her side, at the age of 73. Fran was born August 10, 1935 in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan. She remained in Saskatchewan until she met the love of her life, Harry. They found a place to call home in Big Valley in 1963. Mom poured her life into all of us & will be missed greatly. She was a pivotal citizen in the community whether it was volunteering for the Senior Drop-In centre, Communities in Bloom, for Alberta Prairie Steam Train & Canadian Northern. For many years she served in various roles with the Alberta Senior Games. She served her Lord at St. Peter's Lutheran church and through the many, many ways that she lived her life. Fran was known for her love of playing games especially crib, golf or bingo. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Harry; and survived by sons Lionel (Lori) Stuber, Roy Stuber and daughters Colleen (Kevin) Grouette, Mary (Mark) Doerksen; grandchildren Alicia (Jonny) & Aimee Grouette, Micah & Abygale Doerksen, Rebecca & Katherine Stuber, Richard Caruana; great-granddaughter Olivia; brothers Bruce (Lois) Gilbertson, Lionel Gilbertson, Vern (Jane) Gilbertson as well as many loving nephews and nieces and many good friends. At this time Fran's family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Unit 111, Neurological Unit of the Calgary Foothills Hospital for their outstanding care. Funeral services will be held at the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home on Saturday, June 26 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Foothills Hospital - Patient Care, Unit 111 (Neurology) or charity of the donor's choice.
