It is with profound sadness that the family of Susan Anne "Sue" Sherrer (Glass) announce her passing with family and loved ones by her side the morning of May 6, 2010 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Intensive Care Unit after her long struggle with Lupus at the age of 47. Sue was born August 25, 1962 at Toronto, Ontario and moved west with her family to Alberta in 1964 and then to Lacombe in 1974. Sue attended High School in Lacombe and graduated in 1980. Sue worked in Red Deer at C.A.P.S. selling automotive parts, paint and supplies for ten years and then moved to the rural Lacombe area and started working as a cheery cashier at a number of drugstores in Lacombe until her illness wouldn''t allow her to be on her feet for a full shift. She met her husband Doug in 1989 and they were married in Las Vegas in February of 1991. Sue and Doug had just celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary and were making plans for their 20th. Sue is survived by her loving family; her devoted husband and best friend Doug Sherrer of Lacombe, her parents Ron and Joan Glass, Sylvia Glass and Archie DeBois all of Lacombe, and Mary and Meryl Shaw of Morinville AB, Brother Bill Glass (Shirley) of Lacombe, Sisters Pam Harry (Harold) of Whitehorse YT, Rose Kierluk (Mike) of Camrose AB, Deb Morrissey (Tom) of Mission BC, Melodie Fitzel (Marvin) of Peers AB, Elaine McInnes (Leigh) of Morinville AB, Patricia Ewasiuk (Doug) of Ft. Sask. AB, Lyle Riley (Cathy) of Coquitlam, B.C., Bruce Riley (Brenda) of Ponoka AB, Kelvin (Debbie), Corrine, and Brent Riley, all of Lacombe AB. Auntie Sue was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Sue will also be lovingly remembered by many special people and some very close friends. Sue was predeceased by her brother Wayne Elwin Shaw. Sue loved animals of all types, supported a number of animal rescue groups, and had several cats and dogs at the time of her passing. She also enjoyed riding snowmobiles, horses, motorcycles, and walking the dogs quite often with several kids in tow. A Celebration of Sue's life will be held at the Lacombe Memorial Center, 5214-50 Ave., Lacombe on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Lacombe.
