LUOMA Sulo Samuel was born to John and Sanna Luoma on December 7, 1930 at his home near Trochu, Alberta. He died peacefully on March 1, 2008 at the Three Hills Health Care Centre after a year-long battle with cancer. Sulo married Connie Carlson on November 5, 1960 and they lived on the farm at Trochu, where they raised their four children. They were married 33 years, when Connie died after a long struggle with MS. On November 27, 1994 he married Elizabeth Hamm. Sulo was predeceased by his parents John and Sanna, his wife Connie, and two infant grandsons, Joshua and Matthew Perry. He is survived and will be missed by his wife Elizabeth, his brother Aarne, and his four children: Larry, Ruth, Barb & Kerry Ek, and Donna & Nathan Perry and 10 grandchildren: Karissa & Alanna Howard; Tyler Luoma; Jennessa, Jonah, & Jacelyn Ek; and Steven, Arielle, Alexander & Jackson Perry. He is also survived by his step-children and grandchildren, Trevor and Faye Hamm (William & Charis), Travis Hamm (Dylan Cunningham), and Sandra Hamm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6th at 2 pm at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, Three Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Three Hills & District Palliative Care Program. As a tribute to Sulo Luoma, a tree will be planted in the Heartland Tree Memorial Park, Olds.
