She excelled at every job she had but especially loved the Hospitality Industry, where she met her husband, Peter. They were married on July 1, 1978 in Red Deer. During their twenty-six years of marriage, they also lived in Saskatoon, Whistler and Canmore. Her last job, which she loved, was at Co-operators Insurance of Red Deer. Susan was an avid and excellent golfer. She also loved her animals, Suki and Schwartz, her garden and she entertained with flair and originality. Susan attended Deer Park Alliance Church and she loved the Lord. Susan had a zest for life and laughter and made lifelong friends wherever she went. Above all, Susan was a loving wife, devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all. Susan leaves to mourn her loss, her beloved husband, Peter of Red Deer, her mother, Peggy Bennett of Victoria, British Columbia and her sisters, Joan, Betty, Ruth and Carol, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. Susan was predeceased by her father, Albert Bennett and a nephew, Timothy Farris.
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray
That she’ll come back or you can
Open your eyes and see all that she’s left.
You can cry and close your mind,
Be empty and turn your back or
You can do what she would have wanted:
Smile, open your eyes, Love and go on.
Fly, fly, precious one –
Your endless journey has begun.
