October 16, 1967 - August 20, 2018
With deep sadness we announce that Sydney Gilles Lefebvre of Cochrane, AB, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 20th, 2018 at the age of 50 years.

Syd was born in Ontario, moving to Calgary when he was in his 20's to pursue a career in the construction industry. He loved education and was the top of his class when going through his apprenticeship training. He achieved his journeyman certificate as an Electrician, then his Master Electrician certificate and then he moved onto getting his journeyman certificate in Heating and Cooling systems. He enjoyed building houses, and although he wasn't certified, he was an amazing carpenter and framer. He built many houses in his lifetime, in Ontario where he started, in Calgary, Red Deer and in Cochrane. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, kayaking and camping. He also enjoyed travelling when he could, and spent some time in the Caribbean getting scuba certified, which was on his bucket list. His true passion was with playing pool and throughout his life he spent time in tournaments or just played to relax. The true "love of his life" was his daughter Ashley. They kayaked and camped lots in Ashley's early years as well as spent much of their time enjoying their mutual passion of watching movies at the theatre.

A Celebration of Syd's Life will be held at The Venue Bar and Grill (113 Railway St W, Cochrane, AB) on Sunday September 16th at 1pm with a fundraiser pool tournament to follow.

In lieu of flowers, Syd would have appreciated that donations be made to his precious daughter, Ashley.

Donations will be gratefully accepted at the fundraiser event or by contacting Ashley's mother at InMemoryOfSyd@outlook.com. Condolences for the family may be left at www.cochranecountryfuneralhome.com. Ph: 403-932-1039.
