TARZWELL Mr. E. Lyle Tarzwell passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre Tuesday, September 5, at the age of 81. He was born on the family farm at Lousana, Alberta where he spent his childhood. In 1949 Lyle married Edith Rogers. Together they farmed north of Alix for nearly thirty years and raised four children. Lyle's career followed a number of paths throughout his lifetime. He worked for many years as foreman for the Department of Highways, as an Alberta Wheat Pool elevator manager for over a decade, and on claims for the Alberta Hail and Crop Insurance Board. Lyle was a kind and loving husband and father. Dad’s interest centered around agriculture, travel, camping, and music. He played, sang and listened to Jimmy Rogers's tunes, the Carter family favorites, and traditional as well as modern folk music. Lyle is survived his four children Althea Woffindin (David), Eileen Eggenschwiler (Oz), Connie Brooks (Richard) and Robert Tarzwell (Lori) twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, as well as brother Melvin Tarzwell (Mabel), and sisters Mabel Sargent and Althea Williams (Gordon). His wife, Edith Tarzwell, and grandson, Adam Davison, predeceased Lyle. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 11 at St. Andrews United Church, 5226 – 51 Avenue, Lacombe.
