Ted
Ted Harkema passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, May 13, 2011, at the age of 82 years, he is with his Lord and Savior. Ted was born on September 17, 1928 in Warnes, Frieslan, Holland. He will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Lies Harkema of Red Deer, children; AnnaLies (Brent) Ledieu of Rimbey, Sonja (Ed) Fitzsimons of Red Deer, Roy (Brenda) Harkema of Blackfalds and MaryAnn (George) Ayers of Red Deer, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church (16 McVicar Street, Red Deer) on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. An Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ted Harkema's honour may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 6-5015 48th Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1S9.
