SNELL Tonja 1971 - 2008 Tonja Jo-Anne Snell, of Leeds, England formerly of Red Deer, Alberta passed away suddenly and accidentally while in hospital in Leeds, England on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the age of 36 years. Tonja was born in Red Deer. She graduated with distinction from the University of Calgary's collaborative B.A. degree program with Red Deer College and continued her graduate studies in English Literature at the University of Leeds, England. She published a number of poems and loved studying and writing. She enjoyed children, animals, traveling, music, dancing, books, cooking and nature. Tonja is dearly missed and is survived by her loving mother, Linda Moreau of Red Deer, her father Rupert (Marie) Snell of Powell River, B.C., her grandmother, Lois Moreau and her uncle Jim Moreau of Red Deer, her four step-siblings, and numerous members of extended family and friends. A celebration of Tonja's life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer, Alberta, on Tuesday, August 12 , 2008 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made in Tonja's honour to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta T4R 3S6.
