TWACK 1909 – 2007 Mabel Twack passed away peacefully on Thursday Sept 27, 2007. Mabel was born at the family homestead near Gwynne, AB. on Aug. 27th, 1909. She grew up in that area – married Dan Twack in 1929. They started life together in Hobbema where Dan worked for the CPR – later moving to Coronation and to Red Deer in 1947. Mabel will be remembered for her big smile, giving ways and many contributions to family, friends and community. For many years she was an active member of I.O.D.E., United Church Women and The Order of the Eastern Star. Always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved to cook and bake bread, but knitting was her passion. She kept busy with her needles until a year ago. Left to cherish her memory are her loving family: daughter Helen (Jack) Brooks, Lacombe; sons Ted (Ruth), Calgary; Don (Sharon), Edmonton; grandchildren Jacquie (Greg) Halpen; Susan (Kim) Massong; Nancy (Randy) Brooks; Kim (Norm) Twack; Patti Twack; Michael (Wendy) Twack; Daniel (Tammy) Twack; 11 Great Grandchildren and special nieces- Shirley Benvik, Mona Benvik, Dana Cherniak and their families. The last few months have been difficult and the Family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Murray Martin and the staff of the Lacombe Extended Care Facility for their love and kindness to our Mom.
