VANDERHAM The Lord took to himself, after a long illness, George Abraham Vanderham, at the age 75 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Ann, of 53 years of marriage, four children and three grandchildren. Bernie (Crystal), Logan and Cara of Innisfail, AB; Erica and (Ron) Horie of Wasa, BC; Joanne and Jessica Younker of Whistler, BC; and Yvonne Vanderham of Caroline, AB. He is survived by five sisters and one brother and many nieces and nephews. He moved to Canada in 1953 and returned to Holland to marry his sweetheart Ann in 1955. They settled in Red Deer and after several jobs, moved to Innisfail and took over the Innisfail Bakery from D. Percy. They both worked in the Bakery for 16 and a half years. After that he was very proud driving the Innisfail community bus for about 8 years. George was active in the community with the Town Council, Fire Department, Lion's Club, as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, and member of the Parkland Men's Choir. He was always ready to help somebody. His passion was sailing and he was an active founding member of the Sylvan Lake Sailing Club. George's humour will be missed by many. A Memorial Service will be held at the Innisfail Alliance Church on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Delwar Delport officiating. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or Alberta Lung Foundation.
