LARSEN, Vernon Henry

Vern Larsen, formerly of Caroline, Alberta, passed away at the Hardisty Care Centre, Edmonton, Alberta on June 15, 2017 at the age of 79 years with his family at his side. Vern was the loving father of Cindy Larsen (Doug) of Calgary, Alberta, Darcy Larsen (Kate) of Ardrossan, Alberta and Stacy Larsen (Lauren) of Red Deer, Alberta. He will be dearly missed by his six grandchildren, Whitney, Cailtin, and Natalie Ball and Matthew, Peter, and Evan Larsen. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters Jean Bryan, Betty Andersen, Carol Fifield and brother Howard Larsen. Vern was predeceased by his loving wife Viola, his son Stacy, and his siblings Mary Andersen, Ken, Norman, and Eric Larsen. Vern went from farm hand to rig worker to owning his own business. He had a tremendous community spirit which was portrayed as a volunteer firefighter and a creator of the Caroline Museum. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 1:00PM at the Caroline Nazarene Church, 4803-50th Street, Caroline, AB.
