It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Weishaar on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Red Deer Hospice Society, after a long and difficult battle with heart disease. Vic was born at Norton, Alberta on September 9, 1931. Vic spent all of his working years in the oilfields of Northern Alberta where he was employed for thirty years by Dowell of Canada. Vic and Maxine resided in Evansburg, Whitecourt, and Drayton Valley. After retiring, Vic owned and operated Big W Services in Red Deer a sandblasting and painting company for five years. Vic was active in boy scouts, minor hockey, little league baseball, and was on the Board of the Drayton Valley Church. Vic will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered by his family, his wife of 55 years, Maxine, two sons, Dale (Diane) of Red Deer, and Blair (Nicole) of Spruce View, as well as a daughter, Lori (Greg) Perrin of Calgary. Also left behind to mourn his loss is a sister, Adeline (Cleve) Bexson of Victoria, British Columbia, along with thirteen grandchildren and two great - grandchildren. Vic was predeceased by his parents, Margaretha and Reinhold Weishaar, two sisters, Maggie and Alice Miskiw, and two brothers, Freddie and Walter Weishaar. Relatives and friends are encouraged to pay their respects, and share their memories with the family on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Eventide Funeral Chapel between 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Vic's life will be held at EVENTIDE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Donations in Vic's memory may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnott Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4R 3S6, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
