CHERNIAK, Walter of Wetaskiwin Cherniak, Walter entered into rest on Easter Sunday April 12, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Eileen; children, Ken (Dana) and their children, Neil and Joseph; Wayne (Rita) and their children, David and Karina; Gerry (Nadia) and their children, Matthew and Nicholas; Joanne (Darryl) all from Wetaskiwin. His memory will be further cherished by three brothers, Peter, Edward and George (Jackie); two sisters, Anne (Harry) and Katie (John); sisters-in-law, Victoria, Margaret, Dianne and Joyce, together with Dana's son, Ian Kreutz and numerous nieces and nephews. Walter will be fondly remembered by Eileen's family and many dear friends. Walter was predeceased by his parents, John and Olga; brothers, Fred, Maurice and Steve and sister-in-law, Norma. Prayer service for Walter will be held at Baker Funeral Chapel, 5302-50 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, AB on Friday April 17, 2009 at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass for Walter will be conducted from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5119-49 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, AB on Saturday April 18, 2009 at 11:00 am with Father Slavko, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery.
