Walter Gerdts passed away peacefully in Red Deer on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the age of 85. Walter was born on December 21, 1933 in Vulcan, Alberta to Elsie and Walter Gerdts. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Rosemary Gerdts, his daughters Janice Gerdts (Robert Mast), Joanna (Ted) Harvey, Jennifer Gerdts (Alan Sellery) and his 9 grandchildren; Lawson, Paige, Clarke & Theresa Harvey, Heather & Cody Mast and Michael, Scott & Kate Sellery, his great granddaughter Tessa Harvey and his sister Waltraut (Otto) Symanczyk and their children Erica (Dave) Stone, Alan Symanczyk & Walter (Kim) Symanczyk and their children. He was predeceased by his niece Valerie Symanczyk.
Walter was well known in the agricultural community through his many years of running Great West Feeds.
A celebration of Walter's life will be held at 1pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sylvan Lake,50204 8th Street.
